I present you with a cheesy photo, to update you with my life. [239/365]
HEY GUYS, so it's Friday morning right now and I'm sitting on my couch in my "Whadda Ya At?" Newfie T-shirt, shorts, drinking tea and watching the doctors. I have all Friday's off this semester so that's why I'm at home and not at school! haha
I took this photo last night, it is Thursday's photo. Sorry about the late uploading, but this was taken at like, 12:40am, and Jeromy was sooking (sook is a newfie word that basically means, being sad, acting like a baby haha) for me to come to bed.
SO. Wednesday, was, wait for it, my 2 YEAR CANCER FREE ANNIVERSARY. I was going to say this to you guys with my previous photo but it wasn't too appropriate with that photo, haha! So that's why I present you with this cheesy photo of me sitting on the couch and smiling haha!
Yeah, so I'm 2 years cancer free now. It feels so nice to know that in my head. I kind of wanted to go out and celebrate, just like go out with a bunch of my friends to a restaurant and just have fun and celebrate being alive, but I ended up staying home and just ordering pizza for supper. I guess since it's a weekday and all my friends live further away from each other it's harder to get everyone together. Last year, October 5 2010, my friends who lived across the hall from me in residence threw a surprise party for me for my first year being cancer free, it was also my last day of my first 365 days project, that was amazing. And as much s I wanted to go out with everyone and celebrate, staying home with my amazing boyfriend was just as nice. When I came home from school that day he also had a cake on the table that said "congratulations on 2 years!" awwhh, he's a keeper I think ;D haha!
My life sure has changed a lot. I was just a small town girl, living in a lonely world!!!! hahaha, just kidding that's Journey lyrics.
But seriously, my life has changed a lot. I used to be so different. Long black hair, pretty much hated life, complained about EVERYTHING, and I just was a different person. Getting cancer changed my life around completely, for the better. While I was sick I picked up that camera with a different mindset. With the mindset of creating art, the mindset of documenting life, and turns out photography is what I was meant to do. I mean, I had no intentions of moving out of Newfoundland, ever. I thought I was going to stay there for the rest of my life. But now I live in Calgary, and am staying in Calgary to attend arts school taking photography. I have met the most amazing people here, and that goes from my teacher, to my friends, to my boyfriend who just means the world to me…and life has just changed for the better. I am so happy all the time (I have my bad days but who doesn't?), I think of everything with a positive mindset, and everything is just peachy! ^__^
Happy 2 years cancer free to me, thank you for reading (if anyone actually did read that haha), thank you for supporting always, and I appreciate every single one of you. All of my amazing friends in Calgary and in Newfoundland, all of you who support me through flickr (I have made so many friends on flickr, I can't wait to meet some of you), just all of you. :) I love you all. xxxx
OH, and this picture is in our living room! Isn't it niiice?? I decorated it all by myself :D
And sometime over the weekend I will post some photos of the apartment, I still haven't gotten around to doing that….. I'll post them in comments under one of my pictures or something.
And you will hear from me again today since this is THURSDAYS photo not Fridays, haha! Love you all, and have a great weekend everyone!! x

Oscar, a 12-year-old fragile and bullied boy, finds love and revenge through Eli, a beautiful but peculiar girl he befriends, who moves into his building. When Oscar discovers that Eli is a vampire it does not deter his increasing feelings and confused emotions of a young adolescent. When Eli loses the man who protects and provides for her, and as suspicions are mounting from her neighbors and police she must move on to stay alive. However when Oscar faces his darkest hour, Eli returns to defend him the only way she can.
The enduring popularity of the vampire myth rests, in part, on sexual magnetism. In Let the Right One In, Tomas Alfredson's carefully controlled, yet sympathetic take on John Ajvide Lindqvist's Swedish bestseller-turned-screenplay, the protagonists are pre-teens, unlike the fully-formed night crawlers of HBO’s True Blood or Catherine Hardwicke’s Twilight (both also based on popular novels). Instead, 12-year-old Oskar (future heartbreaker Kare Hedebrant) and Eli (Lina Leandersson) enter into a deadly form of puppy love. The product of divorce, Oskar lives with his harried mother, while his new neighbor resides with a mystery man named Hakan (Per Ragnar), who takes care of her unique dietary needs. From the wintery moment in 1982 that the lonely, towheaded boy spots the strange, dark-haired girl skulking around their outer-Stockholm tenement, he senses a kindred spirit. They bond, innocently enough, over a Rubik's Cube, but little does Oskar realize that Eli has been 12 for a very long time. Meanwhile, at school, bullies torment the pale and morbid student mercilessly. Through his friendship with Eli, Oskar doesn't just learn how to defend himself, but to become a sort of predator himself, begging the question as to whether Eli really exists or whether she represents a manifestation of his pent-up anger and resentment. Naturally, the international success of Lindqvist's fifth feature, like Norway's chilling Insomnia before it, has inspired an American remake, which is sure to boast superior special effects, but can't possibly capture the delicate balance he strikes here between the tender and the terrible. --Kathleen C. Fennessy
